Almost As Beautiful As the Golden Arches

Screen Shot 2015-10-15 at 12.10.51 PMIn middle school I would have fallen to the floor if you told me that one day I’d be filling in my eyebrows. Back then I wanted to take a razor to them. After all, Britney had, like, five hairs above her eyes and there’s no way Justin would want to date a girl with caterpillar brows. Never mind being 13-years-old. I detail how I was bullied about my brows in the post The Odyssey of My Brows. (More embarrassing pics there!)

Ever since I started filling my brows in for shape and structure, I’ve been using Anastasia Beverly Hills products. I mean, obviously, right? Anastasia Soare was the one who Oprah promoted…Oprah added her brow kits to Oprah’s Favorite Things list soooo… Anastasia may have single-

handedly revolutionized the way modern women think about their brows. The brow specialist went to art school in Europe and applied what she learned about the golden ratio to the female face. Very interesting article on her HERE.

Welp, after all this Anastasia praise, I’m have to admit I’ve moved on to another brand. EcoBrow is a mineral-based wax was designed by Camilla Alves McConaughey’s threader, Marco Ochoa. My Anastasia brow powder was like a crayon and my EcoBrow wax is like a marker. It’s smooth. It glides. And it’s more precise and malleable than the Anastasia products I’ve used. Before I discovered EcoBrow, I had to press hard with the brow brushScreen Shot 2015-10-15 at 12.18.47 PM and apply multiple layers of color. With EcoBrow wax and their amazing defining brush, which is a MUST BUY, you’re finished defining your brows with a few simple swipes. There are four shades to choose from. I use the “Liz” shade, the darkest of the collection. You can buy at EcoBrow‘s website or at most Sephoras.

I’m raving so much about this product that it seems like I’m being paid to do so. I am not. It’s just a face changer! I’m an experimenter when it comes to makeup because it’s fun, but sometimes I find a product that works so well there’s no longer a need to experiment. I think I’ll be using this stuff until I’m 92. I say 92 because I recently bought this product for my 92-year-old grandmother. She never leaves the house, sometimes has to wear a patch on her eye, but still finds it important to fill in her brows. Now you know where I come from.

As a true pisces, I live in a magical and delusional land in my head. In this world romances unfold the way they do in romantic comedies, everything at Sephora is free, Shake Shake burgers are a diet food, and we have the capability to clone Harry Styles.

In real life (what's that?), I spend my days pondering how Kylie Jenner's face changed so much. I'm a beauty junkie and pop culture-loving wedding videographer and freelance journalist. I have a Princess Jasmine complex. I am a Fanson (die hard Hanson fan). I enjoy belting old Celine Dion songs.

Please take everything I say seriously (I have my Masters in journalism from Syracuse University), but not too seriously (Cosmo is my favorite publication.)
