Royal Crowning: Jennifer Lopez

“Glow” was my first bottle of perfume that wasn’t from Limited Too. I bet it was yours too…?

This woman is everything. I remember the moment I fell in love with all that is Jennifer Lopez. I was 12 going on 13 and my mom and I went on a date to see my first romantic comedy, the PG-13 rated The Wedding Planner. She was an organized, perfectionist (like me!), who landed a Dr. Matthew McConaughey and she was brunette.  In 7th grade, all I wanted to be was blonde. Britney was blonde so naturally I only thought only blondes could have it all. JLo not only changed this, but her character in this movie changed my life. It turned me into a hopeless romantic to a fault. It convinced me there were McConaugheys in the world that not only would save me, but save my shoe and slow dance with me in the middle of the park while eating brown M&Ms. Ok, we’re getting too deep now.

Not only does she have a signature glow on the outside, I think her personality glows. She may have a reputation for being a diva, but whenever we see her interact with people, whether it’s contestants on Idol or reporters in interviews, she always seems to be upbeat, friendly, positive, laughing, etc. I believe she’s real! And even sings about it. 😉

I don’t need as many adjectives to describe her face and body. Appearance wise, she’s simply a perfect specimen to me. My former favorite show, American Idol, should have called it quits four seasons ago, but now sometimes I tune in just to oogle for JLo. She gets more attractive with every year she ages. 45? Forty-freakin-five? Conceptualizing that fact is almost like thinking about the vastness of the universe.

These photos don't do the outfit justice, but when I saw it, I immediately thought "Royal Crowning."

Girl has been promoting her new chick thriller The Boy Next Door and killin’ it everywhere she goes. I think one of the coolest things about Jenny from the Block is her ability and willingness to play with her palette. She never looks the same. While we can always expect a light, caramel brunette and tan, glowing skin from Jennifer, she’ll always changing up her her and makeup for appearances. Despite your feelings on JLo, you’ve got to admit fashion and beauty-wise the woman is always on point.

I saw JLo in concert in June and let’s just say Britney has been officially replaced. Google her looks from just this week and you’ll see why she’s wearing this week’s Duchess crown. However, Jennifer is not only my girl crush of the week. She’s my girl crush for life.

As a true pisces, I live in a magical and delusional land in my head. In this world romances unfold the way they do in romantic comedies, everything at Sephora is free, Shake Shake burgers are a diet food, and we have the capability to clone Harry Styles.

In real life (what's that?), I spend my days pondering how Kylie Jenner's face changed so much. I'm a beauty junkie and pop culture-loving wedding videographer and freelance journalist. I have a Princess Jasmine complex. I am a Fanson (die hard Hanson fan). I enjoy belting old Celine Dion songs.

Please take everything I say seriously (I have my Masters in journalism from Syracuse University), but not too seriously (Cosmo is my favorite publication.)
